Fruit Cocktail Pudding Cake

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 beaten egg

1 (16-20 oz.) can fruit cocktail in natural juice

1 tsp. vanilla

Topping:

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup chopped nuts(optional)

Sift all dry ingredients together in large bowl. Combine beaten egg, fruit cocktail and vanilla.

Add dry ingredients ,mix well. Pour into greased 9×9 baking pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and nuts. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Serve warm or cooled.
