As a volunteer organization the Olean Food Pantry Inc. provides food security by offering healthy and nutritious choices of food. In cooperation with the community we empower individuals through education, resources, and knowledge to promote self-sufficiency. In keeping with this mission statement, 7 years ago the Olean Food Pantry created a vision for the future. This vision became a 3 phase project to improve our efficiency, increase distribution of more nutritious, perishable foods and to enlarge our space. We have successfully completed phase I and II by upgrading our intake process, enhancing our client distribution and securing a grant which helped construct a walk-in cooler/freezer. These phases helped us provide over 100,000 meals last year, a number expected to increase this year to over 150,000. In addition to this our pantry serves as a distribution site for 8 other agencies feeding in total nearly 7,000 individuals 240,000 meals.

We are now moving forward with phase III to complete the vision of more space. This will include a 1,500 square ft addition to improve distribution to our fellow agencies and to alleviate overcrowding in our intake area. This is where we need your help. To accomplish this we need to raise $163,000 this is solely for the addition project and does not include our normal $100,000 in expenses raised yearly to run the pantry. Would you be willing to help? A donation can be made directly to our project by visiting our website at oleanfoodpantry.org or simply mail/drop off a donation to 8 Leo Moss Drive Olean New York 14760. You can also choose to donate now or through your estate to our community Foundation Fund which serves to maintain our sustainability by supplying funds incurred yearly such as gas and electric charges.

The Olean Food Pantry is a %100 volunteer run 501c3 organization so all donations go directly to the purchase, storage, and distribution of food for those in need. Please consider a donation to this great cause.
